Frog & Gary is a whimsical musical about home, family and a talking frog. The story focuses on the relationship between Gary and his daughter, Alex after the sudden loss of his wife. Gary tries to repair their relationship by moving the family to California for a fresh start. Unfortunately, Alex hates the new house, the new city and the fact that she had to leave her best friend Simon (the talking frog) back in western New York. Desperate to reunite with Simon, Alex runs away.
When Gary realizes that Alex is gone, his only hope of finding her is by enlisting the help of her amphibious best friend. Frog and Gary must work together to find Alex and reconnect their family in this heartfelt and zany story about love and loss and moving forward.

Alex is upset after a terrible day at her new school. She is fed up with the new house, the new school and all of her father’s rules, including a rule that she is not allowed to use the stove to make pancakes. She misses her only real friend, Simon and wishes she could go back to the old house.
After Alex's plan to buy a train ticket is foiled she has to stow away and hide. The only safe place she finds is the train's lavatory. Trapped in the bathroom, she wonders if running away was such a good idea after all.'
Frog and Gary believe have tracked Alex to the train, where they are reprimanded by the train's conductor for not having tickets. When Gary questions if they both need tickets the conductor responds.
Gary explodes after finally being reunited with Alex. When a friend suggests talking to Alex, to apologize and work on their relationship, Gary reveals why he doesn't trust talking.
Gary acquiesces to Alex's request to go home. He warns her that it may not be everything she is hoping for.
At the end of their cross-country train ride Alex and Frog wish that their new favorite adult, Anne could come with them to Canandaigua. Anne must defend her choice to stay with the train,
